Clogged drains can be horrifying and they result in numerous issues for households worldwide.

Having visitors at your home can be quite awkward if the water becomes contaminated and foul-smelling, especially if the sink and bathtub are blocked.

Many homeowners are confronted with a difficult choice, as they strive to maintain clean and free-flowing drains – without necessarily resorting to dangerous chemicals.

Even though commercial cleaners are enticing due to their fast action, they contain harsh chemicals like sodium hydroxide or sulfuric acid that can corrode pipes over time, leading to more issues in the future, particularly harmful effects on the environment.

Make sure to use natural way or products when unplugging your home’s drains.

These chemicals are highly potent and harmful, and can result in injury if they touch your eyes or skin – they can also damage the environment when used excessively.

You can create these natural remedies with household items – they are cheap and very effective for clearing clogged drains.

Here are a few natural methods recommended by True Flow Plumbing that are highly effective in unclogging drains.

Baking Soda & Vinegar

Pour ½ a cup of baking soda down the drain hole. Then, pour in ½ cup of vinegar. Plug the drain and let it sit there.

Next, remove the plug and pour boiling water from the kettle down the drain.

Keep adding more boiling water until the blockage has cleared.

Dish Soap and Hot Water

You will need about two liters of water. Add a few tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Take this mixture and gradually pour it into the sink.

This method may be the most efficient in removing grease blockages since it only requires a few attempts.

The process involves heating the grease until it becomes a liquid again, enabling it to flush out of the pipes and remove the buildup.

Salt, Borax, and Vinegar

Get yourself started by applying the above formula; 1/4 cup of salt, 1/4 cup Borax and end with 1/2 cup of vinegar.

Pour the boiling water in the drain; then, let it sit covered for at least an hour or overnight.

The sink can be flushed with water from the hot water tap in order to remove the blockage.

Salt and Baking Soda

Mix salt and baking soda together in a bowl. You will require approximately half a cup of each. Pour the combination into the sink. Let it rest for a minimum of 30 minutes before rinsing it through using hot water.

If the first attempt doesn’t work, you might need to do it again.

Summary

Clogged drains are extremely inconvenient and are a real pain, causing a lot of stress to homeowners. Smelly, dirty water backing up in your sinks is horrible, smelly and very unhygienic.

Clogged drains can be caused numerous things including:
